On 23 January, distinguished toastmaster Ernest Chen, author of “Earnestly Speaking” and “Rhetorically Speaking”, will uncover the verbal skills that propelled Barak Obama to presidential history.

With these skills, you too, can speak like Obama! Study his eloquently articulated poetic language, dissect the carefully crafted and panache-filled inauguration address and understand the hidden meanings. This seminar is for all who aspire to excel in public speaking.

Ernest is the doyen of Toastmasters in Asia and is an international trainer, speaker, entrepreneur and a community leader. He speaks to small groups as well as to an audience of thousands. He is currently the Managing Director of Interconex Management Pte Ltd, a management and training consultancy firm.

Participants are advised to take public transport rather than park at the SMU car park as there are other SMU functions
Registration counter will be at the entrance of School of Accountancy, in front of the Security Post.

A minimum of 4 Club Officers are required to attend the training for your Club to achieve the other ½ DCP goal.

  1. Successful Membership Recruitment by Eskay Ng, IPP of Toa Payoh Central CC TMC. During his term of office, the club recruited 31 new members.
  2. Parliamentary Procedure for effective Exco Meetings and Election Process at AGM by Kim-See Teo ATM-S, CL, RP, founder of Raffles Town Club TMC, past Area D4 Governor and a Registered Parliamentarian of the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP)
  3. Club Success Plan Review together with your Area Governors
