TPC TMC – Parliamentary Procedure for Toastmasters (23 Oct 08)
Wednesday, September 17th, 2008It doesn’t matter if you have not heard about Parliamentary Procedure. You are not alone. How does it affect you as a member of a Toastmasters Club? Or as a Club President or a District Officer? The standard bylaws of Toastmasters state the use of the Robert’s Rules of Order New Revised (10th Ed) as the authority. Robert’s Rules are applicable widely in all areas of human endeavours where a group decision needs to be made. This session leader is one of the very few in Singapore who is learned in Parliamentary Procedure. The Speaker joined Toastmasters in 2003. He is a Technologist by training, a Registered Parliamentarian(RP) of the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) and a member of the American Institute of Parliamentarians(AIP). (more…)

Focus for September 2008 – Smedley Membership Campaign and Send Semi Annual Dues
Monday, September 1st, 2008Focus of the month: Smedley Membership Campaign, build new clubs and send semi annual dues.
Things to do:
• Semiannual membership report forms are mailed to club Presidents (Collect dues early)
• September 20th, 2008 – Send October semi annual dues
• Win the Smedley membership award for the club – to qualify, recruit 5 new members between 1st and 30th September.
• Membership recruitment and continuing to build new clubs
• Monitor educational goals
• Area level Evaluation and Humorous Speech Contests
• Area Governor completes Round One Club Visits
Things That are due:
30th September, 2008
• Completed semiannual membership reports and dues to reach World Headquarters by 5pm Pacific time, 1st October 2008
